Lincoln Memorial and Georgetown Engagement Photos
Megan & Andrew were my first official DC Engagement Photo session before I moved here! Doing this session with them was so fun for so many reasons, and it got me so excited to move to DC.
Megan & Andrew live in DC with their SWEEEET sweet pup Stevie. They are the kindest and most down to earth people and I truly loved my time with them!
Location Location location- Lincoln Memorial & Georgetown
They wanted to start their engagement photos in DC at the Lincoln Memorial, through the cobblestone streets of Georgetown, and finish up at their favorite rooftop bar in Georgetown. I of course was so down with ALL OF THESE things. If you don’t already know, let me just tell you that shooting at the Lincoln Memorial any other time than sunrise can be…stressful. It is BUSY. If you are someone who would feel uncomfortable getting your photos taken in front of lots of people or if crowds make you anxious, I would say this is not the location for you unless you want to do a sunrise shoot! Even at sunrise you’re not guaranteed for it to be empty, but there will definitely be less people than later in the day. Also- let it be known that the National Park Service requires a permit for shooting on their property, which is basically the entire National Mall including the Lincoln.
That said, a bonus of shooting at the Lincoln Memorial is that you also get a view of the reflecting pool and Washington Monument on the other side!
Let Your Engagement Photos be Easy & Fun
What really made Megan & Andrew’s engagement photos at the Lincoln Memorial and Georgetown a success was that they were easy going, ready to say yes, and just treated it like a nice date night in DC. That’s really the best thing you can do! Just enjoy yourself and take it easy. It’ll be way more fun than you think! Literally cannot wait to party with these two at their Dulany’s Overlook wedding in May. It’s one of my favorite venues!
