Maggie + Jonathan | Annapolis Wedding | 5/29/15
Maggie and Jonathan got married on a beautiful spring day in Anne Arundel County, MD. I have known Maggie and Jonathan both for a few years and was so excited when Maggie approached me about capturing their wedding. Here are some of my favorite moments from the day!
On opposite ends of Grace Evangelical Presbyterian church, Maggie and Jonathan were separately tucked away getting ready.
When Maggie was ready, she did a first look with her parents. It was a heart warming moment to see her mom and dad's faces when they saw her in her dress for the first time!
The bridal portraits are one of my favorite parts of wedding days. There are few things more beautiful than a bride on her wedding day, and the excitement and anticipation before the ceremony is a joy to capture. Here are some of my favorites of Maggie!
Before the ceremony, Maggie and Jonathan both read letters that they had written to each other. I love this tradition!
A few more moments I was excited to capture were Jonathan praying with his groomsmen, and then Jonathan and Maggie praying together before the ceremony. The poor guy had to keep his eyes closed the whole time he was standing right next to her! NO peeking!
Before the ceremony we had some time to take pictures of the guys and girls separately. It was pretty hot out but they were champs.
Here are some of my favorites from the most stressful part of any wedding day for me as a photographer: the ceremony! It's obviously the most important part of the day and there's no such thing as a redo so everything has to turn out perfectly on my part! Some must-capture ceremony photos for me are: The groom seeing the bride for the first time, dad walking her down the aisle, the first kiss, and the exit. I love how these photos turned out, with the tall ceilings, the bold carpets, and the beauty of two people more in love than they've ever been before.
I was also fortunate enough to make it out of the sanctuary by the time Maggie and Jonathan were sharing their first "we just got married" moment! Look how sweet it was.
I'm always giddy when I get a wedding day schedule and there is time for pictures right around sunset. It's by far my favorite light to photograph. The ceremony ended just in time for me to take the bridal party out just as the sun began to set.
The reception was laid back, fun, and all about their families. There were many stories from all the brothers on both sides, some song and dance from Jonathan's brothers, of course, some cake, and a sparkler-lit departure.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Boulden, and thanks for letting me be a part of your big day!
